# Final Project Proposal Template

Use this template for a short proposal of about one page. Keep the writing concise and concrete.

## 1. Project Title

Give your project a descriptive working title.

## 2. Team Member(s)

List the student name(s).

## 3. Primary Question

State the main question in one or two sentences.

A strong question is:
- specific,
- answerable with data,
- interesting enough to interpret,
- narrow enough to finish well.

## 4. Why This Question Matters

Write 3-5 sentences explaining why the question is interesting, useful, or relevant.

## 5. Tentative Project Track

Choose the closest fit:
- Comparison
- Relationship or Modeling
- Categorical Decision
- Probability or Simulation
- Hybrid

Briefly explain why this track makes sense.

## 6. Data Source

Describe the dataset you plan to use.

Include:
- dataset name,
- source or URL,
- unit of observation,
- approximate number of rows,
- main variables you expect to analyze.

If you are proposing a simulation-based project, explain the real system that motivates the simulation and what assumptions you will make.

## 7. Planned Statistical Methods

List the main methods you expect to use.

Examples:
- confidence intervals,
- hypothesis tests,
- chi-square methods,
- ANOVA,
- correlation,
- simple linear regression,
- probability calculations,
- simulation.

For each method, write one short sentence explaining what it will help you learn.

## 8. Expected Deliverables

Briefly describe what you plan to submit:
- notebook,
- report or annotated slides,
- presentation.

## 9. Biggest Risk or Challenge

Name one realistic challenge.

Examples:
- missing data,
- unclear variable definitions,
- sample size that may be too small,
- a question that may be too broad,
- difficulty finding a meaningful comparison group.

Then explain how you plan to handle that challenge.

## 10. Success Criteria

Write 2-3 bullets describing what a successful project would look like.
